Description

A striped tulip in shades of red, yellow, and orange unfurls against a dark background, its petals edged with delicate gradations of color and crowned by a small butterfly perched on one bloom. Curving green stems frame the composition, with a closed bud visible at the base, rendered with the precise botanical detail and luminous quality of 18th-century natural history illustration.
