Description
Two birds-of-paradise perch among delicate branches and hanging berries, their plumage rendered in rich golds, blacks, and emerald greens against a cream background. The composition frames the birds vertically with ornamental scrollwork at top and bottom, executed in the precise hand-colored lithographic style characteristic of 19th-century natural history illustration. At home in a naturalist's study, library, or any space celebrating the wonders of the natural world. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
