Description
A composition of Carolina parakeets clusters across cream-colored paper, their bodies rendered in jewel-toned greens with bright yellow and orange markings on head and wing, perched among delicate branches and flowering plants rendered in muted botanicals. The birds are arranged in a naturalistic yet densely layered composition, their poses varied and lifelike, executed with the precision of hand-colored ornithological documentation from the 19th century. At home in a naturalist's study, a library, or anywhere classical natural history appeals. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
