Description
An 18th-century portrait of a young woman with pale skin and softly styled hair, rendered in muted grays and blues, is overlaid with large white handwritten lettering reading "C'EST LA FUCKING VIE" that spans the composition. The juxtaposition of classical refinement and contemporary profanity creates an irreverent, darkly humorous artwork that subverts the dignity of historical portraiture. At home in a creative space or contemporary living room with edge. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
