A dense grid of checker squares fills the composition in a riot of handmade colors ranging from coral red and forest green to dusty blue, warm gold, and soft pink. The alternating pattern creates a rhythmic, almost musical quality, with each square rendered in slightly muted tones that suggest watercolor or gouache applied with deliberate imprecision. Precision-cut from thick, satin-finish paperboard and made to order, in 500 or 1,000 pieces. An afternoon spent building an independent artist's work.

About The Artist

Ninola is a watercolor artist and textile designer based in Valencia, Spain. As a designer, she developes projects of illustration and pattern design on different surfaces and products, to make common things more beautiful. Ninola means to create by revealing the potential of a joyful spirit, by setting free the forgotten child that lies within all of us, honestly and without prejudices, figuring out new ways of expression, in a constant search for the non-existent yet, for the unexpected and surprising, the emotion of playing and enjoyment, enthusiasm, the might of colors and curiosity of innocence.
