Description
A richly detailed Indian miniature painting depicts a princess reclining on an ornate bed within a multi-chambered pavilion, attended by servants and surrounded by architectural elements rendered in jewel tones of red, gold, blue, and green. The composition layers interior spaces vertically, with intricate patterns adorning textiles and walls, while delicate figural details and Sanskrit script at the top convey the classical Ragini tradition of Indian court art. At home in a gallery, study, or space celebrating classical Asian art and design history. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
