A dense cluster of honeybees covers the dark interior of a hive, their golden-brown bodies and translucent wings creating a warm, intricate pattern of overlapping forms. The overhead perspective captures the collaborative energy of the colony in sharp detail, revealing the texture and individual character of each bee within the collective mass. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
