A dense grid of hand-drawn X's and O's fills the composition in black ink on a white ground, creating an all-over pattern that reads as both playful and meditative. The informal, slightly irregular letterforms suggest the repetitive gesture of marking, while the alternating characters evoke the tic-tac-toe game or the universal symbols for hugs and kisses rendered raw and unpolished.
