Description
A maharaja on horseback observes women in dress celebrating the Teej Festival, swinging beneath flowering trees in a lush garden pavilion rendered in rich jewel tones of emerald, gold, and deep indigo. The composition balances the solitary figure of the nobleman against a crowded scene of celebration, with delicate gold leaf detailing and intricate patterns creating a luminous, ornamental quality throughout. At home in a gallery or study celebrating Indian art history and royal culture. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
