Description
A striped tiger descends a gnarled tree trunk with exaggerated, almost comical proportions, its mouth open and body contorted in dynamic movement against a warm cream background. Rendered in the bold, folk-art tradition of Korean minhwa, the composition balances naturalistic pine needles and botanical detail with the tiger's deliberately ungainly, expressive posture, creating a work that is both playful and commanding. At home in a gallery, study, or any space celebrating Asian folk traditions and humor. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
