Description
Two nuns in full habit sit on cobblestones in a crowded European street, smoking and drinking while onlookers gather around them in apparent shock or curiosity. Rendered in black and white with documentary-style clarity, the photograph captures a moment of transgressive behavior, where religious figures defy expectations through casual indulgence amidst the urban bustle of what appears to be mid-20th-century city life. At home in a gallery wall, a living room with eclectic taste, or anywhere seeking provocation and historical commentary. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
