Three oyster shells rest against a weathered, cream-colored ground scattered with rust-colored marks and stains. Rendered with loose, confident brushstrokes in warm golds, browns, and grays, the shells reveal their pearlescent interiors with bold dark outlines that give them sculptural presence and a sense of casual, organic ease. Precision-cut from thick, satin-finish paperboard and made to order, in 500 or 1,000 pieces. An afternoon spent building an independent artist's work.
