A classical urn overflowing with red proteas, white king proteas, and lush green foliage sits against a rich cobalt blue ground, its terracotta body adorned with a prancing black horse motif. The composition balances botanical exuberance with geometric restraint, rendered in painterly strokes that layer vivid color and decorative pattern across a darkened floral base. About The Artist

Lara Meintjes is a South African illustrator, happily living in Oakland, California while she is working towards a PhD at UC Berkeley. She is particularly interested in color and is delighted by the millions of sneaky tigers she has included in her paintings over the years. She can usually be found drinking tea and occasionally, completely accidentally, paint water. She wishes she smoked a pipe.
