Description
Two passenger pigeons perch on a gnarled branch against a soft cream ground, their bodies rendered in meticulous detail with warm browns and striking blue-orange plumage. The composition captures both birds in graceful repose, with delicate leaves scattered nearby, embodying the naturalistic precision and quiet elegance of 19th-century ornithological illustration. At home in a naturalist's study, a library, or any space that honors scientific observation and natural history. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
