Description
A deep indigo ground is overlaid with a precise grid of white lines and crosses, creating a geometric shibori pattern achieved through the Japanese itajime resist-dyeing technique. The composition alternates between solid dark blue rectangles and intersecting white marks with softly diffused edges, suggesting the natural variation that occurs when folded fabric resists the dye. At home in a minimalist bedroom, meditation space, or contemporary studio. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
