Description

A fan of vertical green leaves radiates outward from a centered point against a soft pale green ground, evoking the botanical abstractions of Henri Matisse's cut-paper work. Bold capital lettering reading "MATISSE" anchors the top of the composition, while additional text in smaller type grounds the piece with institutional and archival information, creating the aesthetic of a museum poster from mid-century modernism. Crafted from bamboo and made to order, with a drilled hole so it hangs on the wall as easily as it works on the counter. A kitchen essential carrying an independent artist's work, not a blank block from the big-box aisle.
