Description

A golden sweet potato with gnarled, bulbous form sits grounded at the composition's base, sprouting delicate pink morning glory flowers with dark crimson centers and verdant leaves that rise gracefully above it. The hand-colored botanical illustration uses warm earth tones and soft greens against a cream ground, rendered with the precise naturalism and gentle romanticism characteristic of nineteenth-century scientific plant studies. Crafted from bamboo and made to order, with a drilled hole so it hangs on the wall as easily as it works on the counter. A kitchen essential carrying an independent artist's work, not a blank block from the big-box aisle.
