Description
A detailed cartographic rendering of Louisville, Kentucky stretches across cream-colored paper with fine linear networks of streets, blocks, and geographical features rendered in black ink. The composition captures the city's layout as it existed in 1873, with a compass rose marking cardinal directions and notations indicating key landmarks, all executed in the precise, utilitarian style characteristic of 19th-century survey maps. At home in a study, office, or anywhere history and geography inspire conversation. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
