Five cephalopods in varying poses and sizes are rendered in warm ochre, tan, and burnished gold tones against a cream ground, their tentacles unfurling in naturalistic detail across the composition. The hand-colored engraving captures the creatures with scientific precision, from elongated specimens at the top to robustly rounded forms below, each one meticulously articulated with subtle shading that conveys volume and texture.
