Description
Yellow moths with delicate, translucent wings cluster around sprigs of small red and white wildflowers in this natural history illustration rendered in soft watercolor and ink. The composition arranges the insects and botanicals in an organic, study-like arrangement against a cream ground, capturing the scientific precision and gentle artistry of 19th-century naturalist drawings. At home in a naturalist's study, a botanical library, or a collector's cabinet of curiosities. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
