Description
Seventeen animal skulls arranged in a tight, symmetrical grid form the silhouette of a larger skull against a textured gray ground, creating a haunting visual paradox of life and death. The monochromatic black and white photograph uses careful composition and repetition to transform individual remains into a memento mori that is both clinical and conceptual. For a gallery wall, meditation space, or room devoted to natural history and contemplation. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
