I often play with a mixture of styles and influences, such as the street art you would find in the alleyways of Shoreditch, East London, and the Baroque style of portrait paintings found hanging in the Louvre. Through an acrylic medium, I am able to emulate the textures, worn surfaces and visual grit found in street art. This style taps into a metaphor reflecting the perseverance of beauty in the LGBTQ+ experience, despite the elements intent on tearing it down.
