TEMIKA GROOMS

TeMika Grooms is a visual artist, teaching artist and arts advocate who is inspired by the human form. As a lover of dance and yoga, she draws endless inspiration from the movements of the body. Free movement and expressive colors are representative of her style. Freedom to simply be, uniquely and unabashed, who we are is our God-given right as human beings. She tries to express this with every piece she creates.

Having worn the various titles of artist, mother, wife and engineer, she understands the need for people to be comfortable in their own skin. Women and girls are particularly effected by imagery in the media. Gender roles in society can challenge them daily. TeMika strives to reflect positive aspects of femininity of women and girls with her art. She is currently creating children's book illustrations, original artwork and teaching art classes in the Atlanta area.
