I soon found out I like it here on Society6 - to see the inspirative creativity of many people.

What surprises me from my Central European point of view:

1. the interest in unicorns. We Czechs know sure unicorns exist but we are not interested in them, never. We don´t paint unicorns, we don´t speak about unicorns, we don´t even think about unicorns. They are of no importance for me. And I like myths! Of course the association of unicorn and falus is obvious to me.

Yes, unicorns and Volkswagens. I can´t undestand the connection of VW and US. But I can´t forget the connection between Volkswagen and Hitler.

2. the amount of foxes and whales. I am glad there are here! I like foxes myself and in the age of two I called myself the Red Fox (from fairy tales). But usually foxes are creatures we don´t like much (perhaps because some people don´t like clever creatures which kill their chickens :-). Our huntsmen shoot them. We like cats and dogs. We call beautiful girls "cats", no "foxes" like in English.

Moby Dick is not so popular as in US, but we know about him. A bit. Nevertheless, we have no sea. So the distance between us and understanding Moby Dick is rather large :-)). However we feel deep empathy and sorrow when hearing somebody /something kills whales.

3. the amount of Bill Murray portraits. I know many movies with Bill Murray and I like him but I can see no reason to have him on my mug, pillow, on the wall or t-shirt. Marilyn Monroe is the same. And all the actors. Maybe I am weird.

4. artificial simulation of glitters. Why? Kitchy, is not it?

5. text INTO THE WILD I can see in so many neat pictures which seem well under control and made with sweet colours. I can´t understand somebody means it really. What is wild there? Not more than words... (and I have seen the movie)

6. the lack of politics, of political opinion. I think the reason is the pretty international character of S6 and the elusive quick change of political situations across the World. It is not bad! It is kind of global and it tends to be tolerant and not one-sided S6. But it is (just neutrally) missing. Maybe I have not searched properly, I am sorry, I am not sure. But I found hundreds of pictures on innocent coffee theme, no one of G.W.Bush, oil, Israel, distribution of money and no picture on serious private and relationship situations as death, divorce, inter-generation confrontation etc. Oh, don´t expect I am going to make all the pictures about war, accidents, our ugly president and other unpleasant things - I have just noticed I miss it here; I don´t mean I wish to see it here. I am glad how it is.

This kind of exploration S6 is great besides the exploration of the great art and ideas here. Thanks. If only somebody could tell me about my own striking points from his / her point of view! (no, not about my poor English :-)
